History of Dhir Singh Pundir :
The story started from Prithviraj chauhan's royal court where there a serious discussion about the attacks of Mallechas.Suddenly,a young man came in the court and announced in a loud voice :
I will put Muhammad Ghori into the legs of the emperor
Everyone was shocked in the court with their jaw widely open.Looking at him the courtiers predicted his future seat beside them in the court and the jealousy for Dhir Singh Pundir arose with time.One of the courtier named "Jaitra Parmar" informed Ghori about announcement that Dhir Singh Pundir made in the court.Ghori planned to kidnap Dhir Singh Pundir.When Dhir Singh Pundir was preaching in the temple,Ghori's soldiers came wearing Hindu costumes and kidnapped Dhir Singh.
He was brought infront of Muhammad Ghori.Ghori asked about the announcement he made in the court,but Dhir Singh Pundir didn't had any fear on his face and replied that he will surely succeed in what he told.Ghori impressed with his valour,send him back to his home with huge respect.
There were many battles fought between Prithviraj chauhan and Muhammad Ghori,but this time Dhir Singh Pundir defeated and arrested Muhammad Ghori from his own hands.Prithviraj Chauhan punished Ghori to pay 10,000 horses as an tribute and all those horses were given to Dhir Singh Pundir as a reward to justify his statement right.

Background :
Pundir surname generally belongs to Rajput clan.Pundir Rajput's history is related with Suryavanshi Kshatriyas.Pundir caste is mostly found in Uttar Pradesh region.Gotra of Pundir are also find in lower castes.Pundir clan's history nor Dhir Singh Pundir's history have much sources and aren't much famous.
Death :
After Dhir Singh Pundir subdued Ghori,whole state started praising along with the emperor.He was even appointed as the new courtier in the Chauhan court.In absence of Dhir Singh,he appointed his son.Jaitra Parma,to protect his seat started traducing Dhir Singh and his son in front of Emperor.His son was exiled because of fake evidence against him.His son went to Lahore and started new life there.
After Dhir Singh Pundir got to know about the whole matter he too went to Lahore and Muhammad Ghori welcomed him,but he refused royal desires and leaved in an simple hut in an valley.He died in a dispute with a merchant who was provoked against Dhir Singh Pundir by some minister of Muhammad Ghori as they didn't liked an 'Kafir' to live in their kingdom.The merchant in fear of death attacked Dhir Singh Pundir at night.
